Will Travel 4 Kale Is Live On Squarespace
Kari Anderson always dreamed about creating a lifestyle blog to share her passion for travel and healthy living with the world. She has been collecting stories, notes, photos from her travels, and developing recipes, so we were really excited to create a beautiful home on the web to display it all!
Our Jonesie Template was perfect for this Restyle—the layout was ideal because it organize's and highlights blog content on the homepage so well! We love how Kari's vision for a clean, bright, and sophisticated design came to life in this dreamy new website.
"It can be overwhelming to try and organize everything and get the material just right. I realized I just needed to start, and that I can perfect everything down the road."
GO LIVE: WHERE DID YOUR PASSION FOR THE INDSTURY OR CRAFT START?
KARI: I've always been very passionate about food and travel, and sharing what I've learned with others. This project has been something I've always worked on and dreamed would one day become my full time gig. I felt there was a need in the market for a healthy travel website. This is something I would constantly seek, but would end up doing my own research when traveling. I hope others find my blog useful and discover something they may have otherwise missed.
GO LIVE: DID YOUR EDUCATION HELP PREPARE YOU FOR THE INDUSTRY OR FOR STARTING YOUR OWN BUSINESS? OR ARE YOU SELF-TAUGHT?
KARI: I'd definitely say my education and life experience have helped me with this journey! I studied Journalism in college and that gave me a great foundation for writing conversationally, which comes in handy when writing blog material. As far as traveling, I think practice and having a worldly view have been my best assets. My parents always tried to take us on fun "trips," even if it was just a few miles down the road. They'd make it an adventure and teach us how to pack and travel, so I've continued to build upon that foundation.
GO LIVE: WHAT’S THE HARDEST LESSON YOU’VE LEARNED IN YOUR BUSINESS?
KARI: It's hard to get started. When starting, it's just you. It can be overwhelming to try and organize everything and get the material just right. I realized I just needed to start, and that I can perfect everything down the road. I've tried to keep realistic expectations and goals along the way so I don't get overwhelmed and can keep my overall brand goals in check.
GO LIVE: WHAT DO YOU WISH SOMEONE WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU WHEN YOU STARTED OUT?
KARI: Take your time! I'm a bit of a perfectionist so when I have an idea I want it all to be done perfectly and right away. That's a lot of pressure to put on yourself and ultimately unrealistic.
GO LIVE: WHAT WAS THE MOMENT YOU HAD WHEN YOU SAID, “I SHOULD DO THIS” OR WHAT MADE YOU TAKE THE JUMP INTO WORKING FOR YOURSELF?
KARI: I've always been a bit of a self-starter and had the idea of this site for years, but when trying to make a living it can be hard to get your passion projects off the ground. I decided to start doing articles little by little, writing things down when traveling, taking pictures, and creating recipes. When I felt like I had enough material I said "now is the time to make this happen" and I haven't looked back!
GO LIVE: WHAT THINGS HAVE YOU GAINED / DO YOU HOPE TO GAIN IN YOUR LIFE FROM FOLLOWING THIS DREAM?
KARI: I've gained a sense of pride by seeing this come to fruition. I love knowing that friends, family or even strangers may find something new and exciting that helps them navigate something in their life a little easier. I feel like there is a little something for everyone and that makes me very excited!
GO LIVE: WHY DID YOU ULTIMATELY DECIDE TO WORK WITH US FOR YOUR RESTYLE OR CUSTOM DESIGN?
KARI: I loved the process of what Go Live offered. Hammering out the brand assignment and focusing on what your brand offers, and what makes you unique, allows the website building to be a collaborative process every step of the way. It's quick, easy, and everyone really jumps in and immerses themselves in your brand and overall goals. You feel like a team working towards one common goal!
