We loved creating a website for wedding photographer Sara Monika. Sara came to us ready for a rebrand of her site! Since her most recent rebrand 4 years ago, she has gained more confidence in what she has to offer and nailed down her niche, and she wanted her website to reflect that.
Her site is a Restyle of our Avery Template a design we crafted for service-based businesses. Sara envisioned an inviting website with a modern, organic feel to attract free-spirited, sentimental couples (her ideal client!). We just LOVE how everything turned out, and can’t wait to see how it helps her business.

GO LIVE: WHERE DID YOUR PASSION FOR THE INDUSTRY OR CRAFT START?
Sara: While I was growing up, my dad used to document moments of me and our family naturally, in the sense that he didn't tell us to look at him and smile. He just photographed things as they were. Looking back on those photos, I LOVE that they transport me right back to how I FELT in those moments.
I realized that my friends didn't have candid photos like that of them growing up, so I set out on a mission to document + preserve candid moments for as many people as I could so they could feel like I did when looking back at old photos. Weddings are a place where the couple is surrounded by all their favorite people at once, so to me it's a gold mine of connections and moments to preserve for people!
GO LIVE: DID YOUR EDUCATION HELP PREPARE YOU FOR THE INDUSTRY OR FOR STARTING YOUR OWN BUSINESS? OR ARE YOU SELF-TAUGHT?
Sara: Oh man, I would say half and half! I did go to college for two years, where I mainly learned the technical side to photography, but, where I learned how to actually run my business and how to consistently improve my craft was through online courses on www.creativelive.com as well as hiring business coaches + mentors along the way! I'm also a personal development junkie, and have trained my mindset to push past my limiting beliefs.
I believe that each and every one of us can have the life we dream of. I CHOOSE to actively create big and scary goals for myself and then every day I take small actionable steps to get me closer to making those goals a reality.
GO LIVE: WHAT’S THE HARDEST LESSON YOU’VE LEARNED IN YOUR BUSINESS?
Sara: I chose to work for myself so that I could have the freedom to live a balanced life, but all I was doing was working more + basically a slave to my business! I was an employee, not the boss.
As soon as I started to outsource tasks that I could train someone else to do, I began to have more balance in my life and even make more money (since I was able to spend my time while working mainly on revenue generating activities)! Work less, make more!? Works for me.
GO LIVE: WHAT DO YOU WISH SOMEONE WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU WHEN YOU STARTED OUT?
Sara: If you stay stuck in student mode, don't expect any results. We only truly learn from EXPERIENCE.
GO LIVE: WHAT WAS THE MOMENT YOU HAD WHEN YOU SAID, “I SHOULD DO THIS” OR WHAT MADE YOU TAKE THE JUMP INTO WORKING FOR YOURSELF?
Sara: I knew very early on that I would be working for myself. Probably when I was around 10. Why? Because I HATED waking up early for school and would always be late and miserable (my circadian clock did not match that schedule).
So I vowed to myself, "when I grow up, no one will tell me when to wake up and what I'll be doing all day. I'm going to be the one calling the shots and in control of my freedom". It was just a matter of figuring out WHAT I was going to do. When I decided, I didn't have a doubt in my mind that I could make it work, because I wanted it THAT bad.
GO LIVE: WHAT THINGS HAVE YOU GAINED / DO YOU HOPE TO GAIN IN YOUR LIFE FROM FOLLOWING THIS DREAM?
Sara: Freedom to do whatever I want whenever I want. Financial security for me and my family to do what we want, when we want. And a positive Impact on others to help them realize that they too can live a life full of freedom and financial security.
GO LIVE: WHY DID YOU ULTIMATELY DECIDE TO WORK WITH US FOR YOUR RESTYLE OR CUSTOM DESIGN?
Sara: About 8 years ago when I started my journey of becoming an entrepreneur, I took some online courses by Jasmine Star and was really inspired by her. I remember her working with Promise on her website and was blown away by Promise and her work that I said to myself, "One day when I make it, I'll have my website designed by Go Live HQ".
[The] law of attraction works wonders. Shit, does that mean I've made it? LOL Doesn't feel like it because I still have so much to achieve, but I'm totally celebrating this moment right now!
GO LIVE: ANYTHING ELSE WE SHOULD KNOW OR WANT TO GET OFF YOUR CHEST?
Sara: The whole process is beautifully streamlined and I love how the homework I worked on helped unearth the direction my business is going in. It feels SO incredible to have this new home for my business on the inter-webs that feels so aligned with WHO I am and where I am headed! I'm SO grateful for you all!
