We loved working with Golden Palm Landscape to create a luxurious website to exhibit their gorgeous and creative outdoor living spaces. They chose our vault template White Oak, a design ideal for service-based businesses, for their Restyle. Creating the logo and branding was one of our favorite parts of the design week- we LOVE the luxurious feel of the typography chosen for their brand. Congrats Golden Palm Landscape!!

GO LIVE HQ: WHERE DID YOUR PASSION FOR THE INDUSTRY OR CRAFT START?
Ulisses: My passion began as a young kid although I didn’t know it then. I grew up helping my father with the family landscape business. That allowed me to be hands on in the family business in both landscape installation and management. That is where my love for the outdoors began.
GO LIVE HQ: DID YOUR EDUCATION HELP PREPARE YOU FOR THE INDUSTRY OR FOR STARTING YOUR OWN BUSINESS? OR ARE YOU SELF-TAUGHT?
Ulisses: I would say that graduating from FIDM, The Fashion Institute of Designing and Merchandising, did help me with starting my business. Right after graduating I was immediately hired at an architectural design firm. After 3 short years, I decided that working indoors was not for me. I took my creative and entrepreneurial skills and ventured into the outdoors, designing and and installing landscapes. Continuing education on new techniques, materials, and styles has been important. I truly believe that one should never stops learning.
GO LIVE: WHAT’S THE HARDEST LESSON YOU’VE LEARNED IN YOUR BUSINESS?
Ulisses: The hardest lesson I’ve learned is balancing my personal life with a heavily busy business life. Running your own business can be extremely demanding, which is why time management, having systems in place, and a having a great staff is vital.
GO LIVE: WHAT DO YOU WISH SOMEONE WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU WHEN YOU STARTED OUT?
Ulisses: I wish someone would have told me about all the different layers of running a business. All the different personalities that I would have to manage early on. On the flipside, these experiences have provided me with lots of personal and entrepreneurial growth.
GO LIVE: WHAT WAS THE MOMENT YOU HAID WHEN YOU SAID ‘I SHOULD DO THIS’ OR WHAT MADE YOU TAKE THE JUMP INTO WORKING FOR YOURSELF?
Ulisses: I will never forget the first time I designed my first set of blueprints. It was for one of my fathers clients. The moment I saw the evolution of my design coming to life, and then into a completed landscape design was “the” moment I knew that I should be doing this.
GO LIVE: WHAT THINGS HAVE YOU GAINED / DO YOU HOPE TO GAIN FROM FOLLOWING THIS DREAM?
Ulisses: Some of my biggest gains in life from following this dream have been creating my clients visions and seeing how happy they are in their new space. Making their dreams a reality is pretty rewarding. Having the flexibility in being a present husband and father, allowing me to enjoy my beautiful family has probably been the biggest gain.
GO LIVE: WHY DID YOU ULTIMATELY DECIDE TO HIRE US FOR YOUR RESTYLE?
Ulisses: My wife and I share the same vision in aesthetics and design. She is a huge part of what GPL is today. Ultimately she felt GoLive would be a perfect fit. She pretty much stalks Go Live’s work and has been a faithful follower for years now. The designers are amazing, and we both knew they would do an amazing website for us! Their work speaks for itself!
