Neutral & Elevated Squarespace Website Design For Contemporary Artist
ABOUT THE CLIENT
Contemporary
Artist, Meg Biram
Meg is a contemporary artist based in the Washington D.C. metro area. Her pieces include paintings, collages, sculptures and murals. When she came to us she was ready for her website to reflect her expertise and the career pivot she made in 2019, from blogger to full-time artist.
ABOUT THE DESIGN
For this project, the goal was to create a brand identity that was cohesive and would showcase Meg’s art. Our team got to work on a Restyle (customization of a Squarespace Template from our shop) of our Penny Template For Squarespace. To kickoff the project, we started by creating a color palette + logo. For the logo, we loved using a typeface with a lot of character and detail. The vibe we were going for was neutral, elevated and warm. We also added subtle paint textures and strokes to elevate her paintings, prints and murals. We love how all the elements flow together seamlessly.
Q&A with Meg Biram
What is your expertise or claim to fame?
Digging deep into the next level, whether that's in my art or when collaborating with brands back when I was a blogger, even in my own self-awareness and friendships I'm always going deeper.
What’s the hardest lesson you’ve learned in your business?
I've never had any major problems, it's more just that planning in advance is worth it. Take risks, and hire out what you can't do. I felt like I thought big, but I think I limited myself and I need to continually think exponentially bigger.
What do you wish someone would have told you when you started out?
Things rarely turn out how you picture them, so go with the flow while still doing your best and giving your max effort.
What does it mean to you to launch or redesign your website?
For me it's the final visual and public transformation from being a blogger to being a full-time artist. I stopped blogging in March 2019 and needed my website to reflect the fact that I've been painting for the past several years as my job.
