Erica needed a new website for The Ballroom Course and we were so excited to get the opportunity to work with her! The first thing we worked on was a Logo & Brand Kit to create the logo and color palette for her brand. Next we jumped into designing the rest of her website to match the bold, fun, and vibrant feel of her brand! Erica chose a Restyle of our Poppy Template to showcase her brand with the fun patterns, textures, and the layered display of photos. It was the perfect match!

GO LIVE: WHERE DID YOUR PASSION FOR THE INDUSTRY OR CRAFT START?

Erica: My passion for this industry started at about 3 years old when I first started dancing! I have danced for as long as I can remember and have been so blessed to turn it into my career. I am so excited to be continuing my journey and making my craft more accessible to others around the world!

GO LIVE: DID YOUR EDUCATION HELP PREPARE YOU FOR THE INDUSTRY OR FOR STARTING YOUR OWN BUSINESS? OR ARE YOU SELF-TAUGHT?

Erica: My training in my craft has helped put me in my current position in my career. I am blessed to call myself a professional dancer, teacher, and choreographer. Without years of hard work and training I don't think I would be where I am today.

GO LIVE: WHAT’S THE HARDEST LESSON YOU’VE LEARNED IN YOUR BUSINESS?

Erica: I have learned that there is a path for everyone! Most of the time our life doesn't turn out exactly how we thought it might and that is OK! Our path is unique to us and isn't affected by other's. Don't be consumed with other people's success and compare yourself- focus on your path and stay true to who you are.

GO LIVE: WHAT DO YOU WISH SOMEONE WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU WHEN YOU STARTED OUT?

Erica: I wish someone would've told me not to be so concerned with other people's opinions of myself. I wish someone would've told me that my success and worth isn't based on winning competitions. Success is what you make it and the quality of your own life. We get to determine how happy we choose to be!

GO LIVE: WHAT WAS THE MOMENT YOU HAD WHEN YOU SAID, “I SHOULD DO THIS” OR WHAT MADE YOU TAKE THE JUMP INTO WORKING FOR YOURSELF?

Erica: I have always known I wanted to be a dancer and choreographer for as long as I can remember. Three years ago I started touring every single weekend about 35 weeks a year. I knew this isn't sustainable for the rest of my life, but wanted to continue teaching and helping others. About a year ago I decided to fully start pursuing turning my craft into online education.

GO LIVE: WHAT THINGS HAVE YOU GAINED / DO YOU HOPE TO GAIN IN YOUR LIFE FROM FOLLOWING THIS DREAM?

Erica: I hope to help spread the love of ballroom dancing and how to provide accessibility to dancers all over the world to learn this type of movement. I hope to gain more financial freedom so I can spend more time at home with my loved ones and start a family!
