Pinch Me Planning Is Live On Squarespace!
Christina combined her love for beautiful spaces and imagery with her organization skills, and a passion for working for herself, and created Pinch Me Planning— a wedding and event planning company for all those, "Pinch me, I'm must be dreaming moments." We Restyled our Aligned Template to give it a more laid-back, yet edgy look!
The challenge? Create an colorful, elevated and modern brand, while adding in a lobster or lobster claw to the design! It turned out to be such a fun design element, and we loved Christina's vision of incorporating her Maine roots to really speak to her ideal clients.
"You're not for everyone. I used to get really upset when I wouldn't book a bride. Then I realized that if I'm not booking them, they're probably not my ideal client anyway!
GO LIVE: WHERE DID YOUR PASSION FOR THE INDUSTRY OR CRAFT START?
Christina: From a young age, I was constantly ripping out pages from magazines and studying how the images were styled. I was in middle school, so I'd glue stick the pages into a notebook so I could admire them over and over again. My love of beautiful spaces and imagery never went away. After college, I was a buyer and merchandiser for various apparel and home decor companies. I always knew I wanted to work for my self though - I found that it was a natural progression to go into styling events since I'm also a super organized person. Then things just took off!
GO LIVE: DID YOUR EDUCATION HELP PREPARE YOU FOR THE INDUSTRY OR FOR STARTING YOUR OWN BUSINESS? OR ARE YOU SELF-TAUGHT?
Christina: I went to Boston College, and there I learned how to be a self-starter. I never had formal training in school for event planning. Once I knew I wanted to start this business, I took online courses and read everything I could find on the internet.
GO LIVE: WHAT'S THE HARDEST LESSON YOU'VE LEARNED IN YOUR BUSINESS?
Christina: You're not for everyone. I used to get really upset when I wouldn't book a bride. Then I realized that if I'm not booking them, they're probably not my ideal client anyway!
GO LIVE: WHAT DO YOU WISH SOMEONE WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU WHEN YOU STARTED OUT?
Christina: The winning numbers of the power ball? Jk, kind of... I wish I had been told to know my worth. I was so afraid of pricing too high. Then I started tracking my hours and realized I wasn't running a non-profit.
GO LIVE: WHAT WAS THE MOMENT YOU HAD WHEN YOU SAID, "I SHOULD DO THIS", OR WHAT MADE YOU TAKE THE JUMP INTO WORKING FOR YOURSELF?
Christina: When I booked 25 weddings in my second year in business, and I found myself sobbing in an ugly brown cubicle. I knew I just wasn't made for that corporate life.
GO LIVE: WHAT THINGS HAVE YOU GAINED/ DO YOU HOPE TO GAIN IN YOUR LIFE FROM FOLLOWING THIS DREAM?
Christina: A better quality of life. Being able to work for myself means I'm not constricted to working 9-5. I can go have lunch with my parents or take a barre class in the morning without feeling guilty.
GO LIVE: WHY DID YOU ULTIMATELY DECIDE TO WORK WITH US FOR YOUR CUSTOM DESIGN?
Christina: Because the websites you design use color...they're not just fancy script and pale pink.
ANYTHING ELSE WE SHOULD KNOW OR YOU WANT TO GET OFF YOUR CHEST?
Christina: That I want hair like Promise?!
