ABOUT THE DESIGN

Our team designed Jacqui’s blog “Baby Boy Bakery” a few years ago, and this year, she came to our team to help grow, evolve, and change the design of her Squarespace blog with a Custom Squarespace Website Design. With Jacqui’s gorgeous images and robust content, it was such a joy for our team to to design a sleek, sophisticated, and down-to-earth brand. Especially since Jacqui wanted to change her name to her personal name for this re-launch, we wanted to make sure it reflected her vision!

GoLive: What’s something you wish someone had told you when you just started out?

Jacqui: I started my online space ten years ago and truly I am doing the same thing I was back then. We just have the budget now to have a team help with photos, video and design. I wish I had this team back in the day, but I met them all through my online space and it took years to get to where we are today. And even still there is more to learn and do! I'd say, I wish someone had told me to be more patient and take care of the relationships you make because they can turn into a team of people who support you!

GoLive: What’s the hardest lesson you’ve learned in your business?

Jacqui: Everyday I share my entire heart with people online. People that I've never met. That takes courage and vulnerability. I've learned that some people can be mean and I'm truly not for everyone. Developing a thick skin and allowing people to have their own opinions on my personal life is difficult. I try to remember though that the good definitely outweighs the bad. And that is the truth with anything hurtful or s ad, I try desperately to hold on to the good to be had. Sometimes it is hard to find but it is worth looking for and holding on to tight!

GoLive: What’s your best tip you could share with other entrepreneurs, business owners, or bloggers?

Jacqui: The main thing I strive to do is being consistent. In the past I've struggled with consistently uploading new content and I think that can ultimately hold you back. If you start something, anything that you are passionate about, carve out the time to consistently share about it. Be consistent in keeping things fresh and exciting. The more people see/hear from you the better. On the downside it can be exhausting to be that consistent ... which is why you better love what you are talking about. Passion and consistency are key!

GoLive: What does it mean to you to launch or redesign your website?

Jacqui: This relaunch means the WORLD to me because it is the first time in ten years that I've switched up my name. I've kept what I've started with but added a bit more of me into the mix. In my case, my personal story of losing my son has defined me in a sense. While that will always be a part of me, I thought it was time to redefine my space and make it more my own. In a way I've grown up a bit. I'm THRILLED about this new direction and the possibilities it gives me!

GoLive: Why did you ultimately decide to work with GoLive?

Jacqui: I've actually worked with GoLive a handful of times and while they are quick + affordable, I think what sets them apart are the people. They take the time to get to know you even before getting started and for me that means a ton. Especially since my brand encompasses my family. It's important for me to feel taken care of and seen. GoLive does that for me. Shout out to Morgan who held my hand during this entire re launch. In the end these people turn into friends, that is what it is all about. Plus, in today's world when someone makes you feel like 'They Got You No Matter What' it's pretty special.

Anything else we should know or want to get off your chest?

Jacqui: If you are ever in need of a simple recipe or if you feel like life has broken you to the point of no return ... come visit me. Let me help you in every way I can. Life is worth living. I know first hand how hard it all can be, I got you no matter what.
