ABOUT THE CLIENT
Elevate Academy
Elevate Academy is a nonprofit organization focused on providing resources for human trafficking survivors to empower them to heal, thrive and pursue their dreams. It was founded by Rebecca Bender, who found that resources seemed scattered and difficult to access when she escaped trafficking herself. Elevate Academy has now become the largest online school for traffickers in the world, serving over 800 students in nine countries.
ABOUT THE DESIGN
The main focus for this Restyle Design was creating a site that a good balance of edgy, but also bright and fresh. We wanted to make sure we created an online space for both survivors and donors to feel welcomed. With this in mind we used darker and bold accents paired with soft textures and colored backgrounds. To make this design unique, we incorporated some fun design elements and patterns and used parallax scrolling to make it a very dynamic and inspiring site.

What is your expertise or claim to fame?
Elevate Academy is the largest online school for human trafficking survivors in the world. We offer holistic support and career development to students in over 368 locations.
What’s the hardest lesson you’ve learned in your business?
"Prepare for the growth you want to have" We started with just 5 students in 2014, and now we are at 777 students. We learned early on how important it is to have a team that can pivot quickly and meet the needs of our students. Whether we are carefully investing in technology, or we are hiring qualified mentors and team members, we want to be ready for the influx of new students that will come our way in the months and years to come.
What does it mean to you to redesign your website?
Our beautiful new website clearly communicates what we do and offers a gateway to supporters and students. This is exactly the site we need for this time in our growth cycle. Thank you!
